I build systems by understanding what's underneath the abstraction, not just calling the API. Howzat's scoring engine is event-sourced because I wanted to reason about state the way distributed systems actually work. Shardly's search index is hand-rolled because I wanted to know what Elasticsearch is hiding from me.
I'm a CS undergrad at NIT Rourkela, and most of what's here exists because I got curious about how something worked and decided the only way to know was to build it.
